That simple request set the stage for a journey we never expected.
It all began on a professional Teams call. Anthony reached out, under the pretense of needing help finding a job, but his true aim was to connect with Christelle on a personal level. While Christelle, ever the dedicated recruiter, asked her screening questions with earnest professionalism, Anthony gently steered the conversation toward something more genuine.
As the conversation unfolded, the formal tone melted away. Anthony eventually said, “Okay, enough of the professional talk I just wanted to get to know you.” What started as a brief interaction blossomed into a deep, three-hour long conversation, and by the end of that call, it was clear that something special was beginning to form.
Their first date was unconventional yet unforgettable. It took place at the gym. We spent time together in an environment that was both active and relaxed. Later that evening, We had dinner in our sweaty gym clothes, a moment that perfectly captured the real, unguarded connection between us. Four weeks after that first meeting, Anthony asked me to be his girlfriend. In that moment, we both knew we had found something extraordinary; divinely connected some may say!
Now, as we prepare to celebrate our wedding, we look back on that day with deep gratitude. Our story is a testament to the beauty of taking a chance and embracing the unexpected. We’re excited to begin this next chapter together, and we’re thrilled to share our journey with you.
The Proposal – A Christmas Surprise
The best surprises happen when you least expect them, and Christmas evening 2024 was just that—a moment we’ll never forget. After spending the day with Anthony’s family, we headed back to mine when he insisted on making a barbecue late at night! I was confused, but he was determined. What I didn’t know was that he was secretly plotting with my brother-in-law to pull off a surprise proposal!
The Setup
As he prepared the barbecue (taking forever!), my family called me into the living room for what they said was a game. When I walked in, everyone’s phone flashlights were on.
I asked, “What kind of game is this?” and they said, “You need your flashlight!” Being me, I insisted on getting my phone, but Anthony stopped me. “Babe, you don’t need it. Just come.”
Still clueless, I went to the middle of the room.
The Proposal
I turned around and there he was, on one knee.
At first, I was confused. Is this a joke? But then, I heard his voice: “Baby, it’s time.”
I barely processed what was happening before he said, “Will you marry me?”
In shock, I tried to run away (classic me!), but my family pushed me back. Anthony grabbed my hand, and through happy tears, I finally said…
“Yes.”
